Originally from Fredericksburg, Virginia, Mr. Pinkney moved to Bloomington, Indiana after receiving his Bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and his Master’s degree from Cleveland Institute of Music. Mr. Pinkney has also received a certificate in biblical studies from Clearnote Pastors College. Mr. Pinkney has been working for LCA for five years and has enjoyed every minute of it. He enjoys working with youth and seeing students grow in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Outside of work, Mr. Pinkney is an avid bow hunter, a gardener, and pretend farmer as he takes care of his chickens, rabbits, and bees. He is actively involved in his church as a Jr. High youth group leader and mentor to many young men. One of Mr. Pinkney’s favorite quotes comes from a poem by James Russell Lowell entitled The Present Crisis “Truth forever on the scaffold, Wrong forever on the throne, — Yet that scaffold sways the future, and, behind the dim unknown, Standeth God within the shadow, keeping watch above his own.” After a fun day of work at school, Mr. Pinkney enjoys going home to his wife Emily and their three kids: Imani, Apollos, and Dewayne Jr.
