Mission and Vision

The mission of Lighthouse Christian Academy is to partner with Christian parents to provide a biblically integrated and academically excellent education to develop each child’s Christ-like character, intellectual ability and physical health to the glory of God.
 
LCA is an interdenominational school that glorifies God in supporting Christian families by providing a biblically integrated and academically excellent education.
 
An LCA student will be equipped to impact his or her world by exhibiting strong Christian character including service to God and to others, and by demonstrating academic achievement, biblical leadership, and the ability to articulate and defend a Christian worldview in all areas of life.

Back to School Nights

The start of the 2022-2023 school year is quickly approaching. To prepare parents for the coming year, we are hosting some Back to School Nights.
Welcome

2022-2023 New LCA Faculty and Staff

We are pleased to announce two new additions to the LCA administrative team and two new full-time teachers.

Our new Assistant Principal is Greg Mosley. Greg has a BS in Education and an MA in Journalism from Indiana University and an MA in Biblical Leadership and a DMin from Trinity Theological Seminary. Greg brings a wealth of education and ministry experience to his new role at LCA, as he has been an adjunct professor at Indiana University and Ivy Tech Community College, teaching Journalism, English, and desktop publishing. For 22 years he served as Graphic Design Instructor at the Indiana University High School Journalism Institute. Greg has also served as youth pastor, worship leader, and assistant pastor at Stanford Baptist Church. And he has served as worship leader, director of youth ministry, and is currently an elder at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Greg’s wife and illustrious LCA science teacher, Chere, have three grown children—Rachael (25), Hannah (22), and Andrew (19).

We also welcome William Judge as our new Development Director. William (“Billy”) earned his BS in Interdisciplinary Studies and MA in Secondary Education Teaching at University of South Carolina. He also holds an MDiv from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. William has taught middle school and high school science and coached youth basketball. He has served as College Pastor at Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, SC and has been a church planter in Pittsburgh, PA. Most recently, William has worked with Edison Learning. William and his wife, Sarah, have two boys, William (4) and John Robert (2).

Our new full-time middle school Math Teacher is Amy Stotler. Amy holds a BA in Business from University of Southern Indiana and is working towards her Transition to Teaching degree at Saint Mary of the Woods. She has been a teacher assistant for MCCSC and Eastern Greene Middle School and worked as a leasing agent with Woodington Management in Bloomington. She has also worked with Crane Credit Union and Bloomfield Public Library. Amy and her husband, Charles, have three children: Braydon Myers (19), Brayden Stotler (18), and Nathan Myers (16).

Our new Second Grade Teacher is Sherry Webb-Stevenson. Sherry holds an Associate of Science in Elementary Education from Ivy Tech Community College and a BA in Educational Studies from Western Governors University. Sherry has served as a teacher assistant at Ellettsville Elementary School, a fundraising specialist at The Campaign Center in Bloomington, a pre-school teacher at Head Start Preschool in Spencer, IN and has been a frequent substitute teacher at LCA. Sherry has also owned an operated her own business, The Cleaning Crew, in Ellettsville. Sherry is married to Brad Stevenson. Their kids are Brayton (20), Tristan (18), Joel (17), Marissa (15), Lily (14), and Skyler (12).

We are blessed to have such talented and devout individuals join our LCA family. Please be in prayer for them as they transition into their new roles.

After-Care Attendant Needed

LCA is looking for an After-Care Attendant for our Elementary students. The position is from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm Monday-Friday. Interested applicants should contact Dr. Jim Spiegel at [email protected] or by calling the school at 812-824-2000.
2022 Retreat

Retreat 2022! Grades 6-12

All LCA students in grades 6-12 will participate in a one day retreat on August 11.
The 2022 LCA Retreat will take place at Camp Illiana in Washington, IN. Students leave the school at 8:00 am and will return at 5:00 pm. Lunch as well as transportation to and from LCA to Camp Illiana will be provided. If your child has dietary allergies or concerns, please pack a sack lunch for them to bring.
Students should wear outdoor appropriate clothing and pack a swim suit. Swim attire for female students is to be a modest one piece. Swim attire for male students should be trunks that meet dress code length requirement.
Income Guidelines

Financial Aid Important Information

Financial aid applications through FACTS were due March 31, 2022. If you have not applied though FACTS for the 22/23 school year, please do so as soon as possible. Financial contracts will be emailed beginning Monday, May 23. If you have applied for financial aid, your contract will NOT be sent until finalized award amounts are received from FACTS. Please make sure all documentation requested by FACTS has been submitted. If you have any questions about your financial contract, please contact Lisa Sellers at [email protected]
The State of Indiana increased income limits for the Choice Scholarship Program so your family may now qualify for state vouchers. If you are unsure whether or not your family qualifies, please call the school office at 812-824-2000.
