We are seeking a dynamic, competent, and qualified individual to join our awesome elementary team in passing the gospel to the next generation through education!
The Elementary Teacher at Lighthouse Christian Academy provides Christ-centered instruction that nurtures the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional development of students. This role exists to partner with families in the formation of students who love God, love others, and pursue excellence in learning.
The teacher integrates biblical truth across all subject areas while delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Indiana academic standards and LCA’s mission.
*Responsibilities*
-Plan and deliver effective, engaging lessons aligned with curriculum and state standards.
-Use a variety of instructional strategies to support academic growth and student engagement.
-Maintain clear learning objectives and communicate expectations consistently.
-Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and guide instruction.
-Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and orderly classroom environment.
-Teach and reinforce appropriate behavior, responsibility, and respect.
-Foster a culture of encouragement, accountability, and growth.
-Observe and respond to individual student needs academically, socially, and emotionally.
-Collaborate with administration and support staff regarding interventions when needed.
-Maintain accurate student records, grades, and documentation.
-Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress and needs.
-Participate in conferences, school events, and family engagement opportunities.
-Work collaboratively with colleagues, administration, and support staff.
-Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school functions.
-Maintain professional standards in preparation, punctuality, and conduct.
-Continue to grow in instructional practice and spiritual maturity.

Requirements
-A vibrant and maturing relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to the mission of excellent Christian education.
-Active participation in the life of a local bible believing church
-Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field (IDOE teaching license preferred or ability to obtain).
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children in an educational setting.
-Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
-Effective communication and organizational abilities.
-Agreement with Lighthouse Christian Academy’s statement of faith and educational philosophy.
-Active participation in the life of a local bible believing church
